Job Roles

Each employee listed at a venue on Hopsy must be assigned a role. This role determines their permissions on Hopsy.

  • Each venue can only have 1 'Venue Manager'. The manager carries full permissions for that venue across the Hopsy platform.

  • The 'Assistant Management' role carries almost the same permissions as the manager and is designed for assistant managers, head chefs, and supervisory employees with full responsibility at the venue.

  • The 'Staff' role is for all other employees and certain elements on Hopsy are restricted for these employees. They cannot see personal data, and do not have the ability to make changes to settings or staff rotas.


To set an existing employees Hopsy role:

Step 1

Head to the staff page under the staff dropdown. For the appropriate employee, hit 'Settings'.


Step 2

Drop the 'Hopsy Role' box and choose from manager, assistant management or staff. The change will take effect immediately.


The Hopsy role set will determine the section under which the staff member will be listed on the staff page.

'Manager' and 'Admin' users will be listed under the 'Management' section. These roles have full permissions on Hopsy and can see all data. 'Staff' members have reduced permissions and are detailed under their own section for clarity.


Work Departments

As well as a role on Hopsy, each user can be set a default 'Work Department'. The work department determines which section of the rota the employee falls under on the rota function.

To set a default work department for a staff member:

Step 1

Head to the staff page, and for the correct user, select 'Settings'.


Step 2

Drop the 'Work Department' box, and select from the available options. Any changes will take immediate effect.

Once set, the employee will be listed under that work department category on the staff rota.
